Course Details
Students who already hold a Level 2 qualification in plumbing, heating, or ventilation can join our shorter Cross-Skills Gas Training Course. This pathway allows experienced tradespeople to up-skill efficiently and progress through the syllabus and site-based training with confidence.
This assessment-based course - much like learning to drive - enables eligible students to start at a more advanced level and use their existing knowledge to fast-track their journey into the gas industry.

The CTS Group Up-Skill to Gas Course, which includes initial ACS Competence Assessments, starts from £1,480 (including training and certification).
Following the assessments, students must complete a portfolio of hands-on work experience, recorded as evidence of their practical abilities. This must be done under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered engineer or company. If you don’t already have access to a Gas Safe engineer, you can choose to work with our national network of experienced professionals. You’ll gain real-world experience on genuine installations, repairs, and emergency work, while building a portfolio that reflects your growing skill set. Depending on your location, portfolio packages range from £1,500 to £2,400, including full portfolio approval.
You may also opt to work with an approved gas portfolio-building company. For more information on approved partners, please contact your assigned tutor.
